Chai and Date Bircher Muesli at The Wedge Espresso, Glebe

Did you know Bircher Muesli is often eaten for lunch or dinner in Switzerland? Not just breakfast? For morning cereal lovers (me included) this might seem a little odd, but I think they’re onto something. Done right, bircher is great at anytime of the day.

The Wedge’s Chai and Date Bircher Muesli is a perfect easy-breezy brekky, brunch or arvo snack. The combo sounds unusual, but it’s completely delicious – think iced chai latte over your favourite fruity muesli.

The bowl is big enough to fill a lunch-sized appetite without leaving you feeling too oaty-bloaty. And it goes down especially well with one of their lovely coffees.

Heidi probably ate her bircher in the sun, so you had better too. Perch yourself at the cafe’s big open window!
